November is Whitetail Month in Maine
Nothing beats the anticipation and excitement generated by Maine’s regular firearms season on whitetail deer – the tradition, the camaraderie, and the skills (and stories) passed down from one generation to the next.
The November, 2024 issue of The Maine Sportsman captures and amplifies that energy, starting with a Maine buck photo on the cover; continuing with a celebration of the life of renowned tracker Larry Benoit (p. 15); followed by two deer hunting special sections (Blaine Cardilli’s “Chair Stands for Deer,” p. 19, and Jim Andrews’ “Lasting Impressions from the Deer Woods, p. 22); and including a history of Big Woods Bucks, by Lee Schanz and Hal Blood, p. 24.
Good luck to all you deer hunters out there!
And to bring good luck to your friends and family at Christmas, print and mail this coupon, or call us to give the gift of subscriptions to The Maine Sportsman, with this special offer:
To demonstrate the breadth of our Maine wildlife coverage in this issue, we also provide information on carp (p. 7), eels (p. 14) and Maine cougars (starting on p. 8).
And with snow and ice arriving soon, look over Steve Carpenteri’s profile of snowmobile dealer Moosehead Motor Sports (p. 28), and read Nolan Raymond’s take on preparing for ice-fishing season (p. 39).
It’s a jam-packed issue, chock-full of trophy photos, great letters to the editor, and helpful hints to make your late autumn and early winter hunts a success.
So have a great month of November, and enjoy time spent with friends and family at Thanksgiving.
