When Maine Sportsman monthly columnist Bill Pierce (see “Snapshots in Time”) saw his friend and fellow fly fisherman Stephen Marsters in the cover of the May, 2025 issue, he took it as a challenge. “This brookie is one of three different fish, all taken in one hour, all on casted smelt patterns in 3-8 feet of water,” he reports. “I landed a 22” togue as well.
