Maine Sportsman subscriber Dereck Shaw of Rome had a productive 2024, earning his Maine guide registrations in hunting, fishing and recreation, and also qualifying for membership in the Grand Slam Patch Club. He traveled to T5 R11 WELS on October 16 to harvest this massive 782-lb. bull moose, and followed that up on November 4 with a 190-lb. whitetail buck, taken in his hometown and registered at the Sandy River General Store. Earlier in the autumn, Dereck tagged a 250-lb. boar in T4 R11 WELS, and an 18-lb. tom turkey in Unity. Dereck is shown here with his wife Sarah and their 6-year old son, Clayton.
