A mother/daughter Grand Slam is a most unusual occurrence — but that’s exactly what transpired with mom Yvette Benner and her daughter Calyn Moody, both from Nobleboro, in 2024. They gained access to the moose hunt when Yvette’s friend Linda was drawn for a permit, as was Calyn‘s husband Mark. They got their black bears one day apart (August 28 and 29) under the guidance of Carl, from Hunt’s Guide Service in Stacyville. They each harvested bull moose (see Yvette with her 787-pounder), tom turkeys and whitetail bucks (here’s Calyn with her 142-lb. buck), to complete their unbelievable seasons.
